Electoral College

Did you know?

# of senators + # of representatives= # of electors for each state

To be elected president, you need 270 Electoral College votes. This system was favored by the founding fathers because it gave all states a say, not just large states.

The president is actually elected by a group of group of electors from each state. Electors votes are required to reflect the popular vote in the state.Only Maine and Nebraska do not follow this rule.
