Khufu ruled for the first half of the Old Kingdom period. He was the pharaoh who built the Great Pyramid Of Giza.. He was born in Ancient Egypt and also died in Egypt. People today still do not know what he died of. He had died in 2466 BC. His father’s name was Hetepheres l, and his mother’s name was Sneferu.

Menes was known to be the first Pharaoh and ruler ever. He was King/ Pharaoh of the Upper Egypt. People today say that Menes was a big mystery. They say stuff such as was king Menes actually a king? Or something like, did Menes ever exist. Menes was the founder of the first dynasty of Egyptian Pharaohs.

The famous Great Sphinx of Giza stands about 240 ft. high. The person in charge of building this was Khafre The body is shaped as a lion and the face was shaped and designed as a human’s face. It was all made from limestone that was traveled from very far away places. People think that they would flood them through the Mediterranean sea.

Some of the artifacts that were found in Khufu’s tomb were stuff such as chairs made of full gold. In most of all of tombs of kings and queens there is at least one thing of gold. There was head masks and some head dresses. They are also prepared with food especially made for the after life.

Mummies are made for many reasons. One of the many reasons why special people were mummified is because to prepare them for the after life. They believed that there was always a life after the first one. They believed that in the afterlife you were young and healthy. Another reason why mummies are made is because if they were rich and wealthy they would be mummified and poor people would be put into mud tombs. The king’s organs would be placed into small jars next to them. The body is placed in a sarcophagus which is a coffin.

One of the most famous pyramids is The Great Pyramid Of Giza. The person who built this amazing site was King Khufu, and with a little help of Imhotep and Hemiunu. The time it took to build this beautiful site was 20 years.And including 10 more years due to building a stone causeway. It is 455’ feet tall. It was opened during the 2540 BC. It is also the biggest and oldest pyramid of all. It was made for a tomb.

Some of the artifacts of King Menes’s tomb was many gold and silver items. Something that they had found in Menes’s tomb was there was many clothing and very old and rusty food such as bread, meat, vegetables. Since he was the very first pharaoh ever rule they still didn’t know much.

Egyptians had a god for mostly every-thing. They had Isis the goddess of magic. Or Seth the god of the desert. Or another would be Osiris, the god of the dead. And also Horus, the god of all pharaohs. Egyptians had over 3,000 different gods. Gods and religion was one of the most important thing about Egyptians.
