Egypt Empire

~Essential Question~ How does the geography of a civilization affect the development of its government, economy, and society?

~The Egypt Empire~Weston Null

Nile RiverOne big thing in egypt that developed the government, econom, and society was the Nile River. This river flooded allowing crops to grow and food to eat and trade.

DeltaAlso because the Delta created surplus crops really on a regular so basis that area was really stable. This allowed the people to live somewhat of a wealthy life.

EconomicsBecuase Egypt got so wealthy they had alot of time to do things like science, build things like the pyramids, and also build there own government.

RulersEgypt had multiple rulers throughout the land but Egypt had one overall leader called the Pharaoh. The pharaoh was said to be the messenger of God.

Writing In Egypt they had one type of writing that is hieroglyphics. this type of writing is just small pictures used to represent something.

ReligionIn ancient Egypt they had a religion that was somewhat complex system of polytheistic beliefs and rituals which was a major part of egyptians life. They believed that nature was controlled by many great beings.

GeographyThe geography of ancient Egypt really helped with trade, agriculture, and development. I say this becuase the Nile River created fertlie soil whenever it flooded so that allowed crops to grow. Becuase crops grew they were able to feed them aswell as make trade and gain other items. Also since the nile floods the ground became like clay which allowed people to build houses and then eventualy whole citys. Location of Egypt was also great for trading because they had many routed to get to or from places.

TradeEgypt was considerd the masters of trading in the ancient world. Egypt was really the center of trade around this region of the world. They traded many things like gold, pottery, tools, grain, clothing, etc... Egypt was growing wealthy everyday.

TradeEgypt had a trade system with the cities and empires that were on the fertile crescent like Arabia, Afirca, India, and Sub-Saharan. Also Egypt had a trade with china and many parts of egypt when they were split into two parts uppre and lower egypt.

CurrencyEgypt's currency wasnt like china were the silver and gold pecies were shaped square or round with a hole in the middle. The currency used in egypt was gold peices shaped like animals or just gold pieces same thing with silver.
