Egg Carton Flower Lights This DIY project introduces a fun and easy way to make your room warmer and more inviting. These lights can be used year round too! They're super easy to make and lots of fun! Materials needed:- Egg cartons (carboard or styrofoam)-Acrylic craft paint-Sharp utility knife_Foam paintbrush_Hot glue gun_String of Christmas lights_Cutting mat

1) Gather materials.2)Cut cartons... using the utility knife, cut egg cartons as shown in picture 1. 3)Shape flowers... after cutting the cartons in step 2, decide the shape you would prefer your flowers to be. Cut the shape according to your preference.4)Paint flowers... the sponge paint brush works best for this step. On styrofoam cartons, the paint with leave brush strokes, creating a watercolor look. Cardboard will cover evenly. Paint inside first, leave to dry as you continue with each flower. Then go back and paint the outside of each flower.5)Assemble your lights... make sure the paint is dry before you begin this step. Use the utility knife to cut an ''X'' shaped hole in the center of each flower. Place one light bulb into the hole, then proceed by hot-glueing the light into place. On the backside of the flower, hot-glue it once more to make sure that the light bulb is securely in place. Hold the flower until the glue is completely dry. Repeat on each flower.6)Be creative and enjoy!!
