Edwin Hubble was a famous American scientist, he studied Astronomy. Over his lifetime his accomplished many things, some like discoveries with Nebula’s. Nebula is like a cloud made up of gases and dust. Edwin Hubble played a crucial role of establishing the field of extragalactic astronomy and is generally regarded as one of the most important observational cosmologists of 20th century.

Hubble made a huge impact on astronomy, and science in general, by demonstrating that other galaxies besides our own Milky Way existed. It was the previous belief of many that space was limited to the Milky Way galaxy, Hubble’s discoveries which were announced in 1925 changed our view of the universe. He was awarded many awards such as the Legion of Merit, Bruce Medal, Franklin Medal, and Gold Medal of the Royal Astronomical Society. One of his quotes were: "The universe is unfolding as it should."

NEBULA

Born in Marshfield, Missouri on November 20, 1889, to father John Powell Hubble and mother Virginia Lee Hubble, Edwin Hubble began reading science-fiction novels at a young age. One of his favourite books was Jules Verne's 20,000 Leagues under the Sea. Edwin Hubble was the first to prove there were galaxies outside the Milky Way.Hubble discovered that the level of redshift in light coming from a galaxy increased in proportion to the distance as that galaxy moved further away from Earth. This is known as Hubble’s law and it helped prove that the universe is expanding.

EDWIN HUBBLE

World War 1 was decleared when Edwin Hubble was 25 years old. He wanted to serve in war, but he was convinced to continue being a scientist.
