Edgar Allen Poe

Edgar Allen Poe is know for his famous short storys. The one poem that everybody knows or recognizes Poe from is his poem, The Raven. He is known for his creepy, frightening tales too, which was probably more than half of the books and poems he made. The Murders in the Rue Morgue was a detective story about a murder of course, and it was a very good and different book indeed which was one of the reasons Poe is still famous today. He wasn't all dark though, he had a few comedies that he had written, so he had everything to right about comedies, horror, and mystery.

Edgar Allen Poe was born in Boston, Massachusetts January 18, 1809. He writes poems, short stories and he was a critic. He started writhing in new genres which got hime the nickname, the father of the bit detective story in his early life as a writer. He barely knew his parents, his mom passed away when he was 3 and his father had abandoned him early on. So he had to go live with John and Frances Allen, which started Edgar Allen Poes carrer.

Famous Works


Edgar Allen Poe attains sergeant major by doin well in the army in 1828. Poe wins a contsest called " The Manuscript Found in a Bottle", which finally gets him a job. Poe finally gets to start publishing his books to start a well career and made lots of money.
