In 1809, Edgar Allan Poe was born in Boston Massachusetts. Before his 3rd birthday, Poe became an orphan due to his mother's death, and many years later, the same event occured with stepparents. When he turned 27, he married Viginia, his 13 year old cousin, who later died from Teberculosis. Edgar Allan Poe was one of the many great American writers of all time. Poe is well known for his poem, The Raven, and he is most famous for his terrifying tales and passionate poetry. He has also been credited for writing the first detective story. On October 7th 1849, Edgar Alln Poe died in the hospital, in Baltimore Maryland. Edgar Allan Poe is a legacy and will continue to inspire people and other writers to do incredible things in the future.
