Edgar Allan Poe Poster

One of Edgars most well known and famous stories is The Raven. A famous poem, which is one of my favorites, A Dream Within a Dream is one of famous works. The Bells is an odd poetry but is also one of his most famous works.

Edgar Allan Poe was born in Boston, Massachusetts in 1809. When he was about two years old his mother died and was abandonad by his father. When Edgar was twenty-seven he married his thirteen year old cousin. His mother, brother, and wife all mysteriously died of tuberculosis. Poe suffred from poverty all his life; once he was so poor he had to burn his own furniture for warmth. He suffered from a sever drinking problem; when he went to meet the president he was drunk. Edgar said that when he died he wanted a string wrapped around his finger that lead to a bell, so if he was still alive he could ring it. Poe died in 1849 due to rabies. Edgar Allan Poe is one of the greatest writers of all time.
