Earth: The Big, Blue and Beautiful

The Earth is composed of four layers:1. The outer layer is the Crust2. Below that is is a semi-solid layer called the Mantle3. below lies a completely liquid layer called the Outer core4. a solid iron ball lies in the middle of Earth and is called the Inner core

Earth's moon is thought to have been formed when a planet smaller than Earth found its way into our planet's orbit. From then on it was on a collision course with Earth. Eventually, they collided. The small planet was completely disintegrated and became part of what we know as present day Earth

Earth: The Big, Blue, and Beautiful

Our home world's abundance of water -- and life -- makes it unique in our solar system. Other planets, plus a few moons, have ice, atmospheres, seasons and even weather, but only on Earth does the whole complicated mix come together in a way that allows complicated life to flourish.

One year is the time it takes for Earth to orbit the sun once. This takes about 365 days or 584,019,311 miles (939,887,974 km).

Earth is approximately 92,956,050 miles (149,598,261 km) from the sun, making the third planet from it.

Earth is incredibly durable, but it isn't indestructable; due to excessive pollution caused by humans, its animals suffer and die. Do your part to orotect your home, it's the only one we have.

Fun Fact:At the equator, Earth has a width of 24,873.6 miles (12,756 km), and has a volume of 259,875,159,532 mi3 which works out to be 1,083,206,916,846 km3
