Rome Becomes a Republic
The 12 Tables were law written on tablets that described the right of each person in the Roman Republic. This was one of Rome's major gifts of the world was this law system
People who lived north of Rome. They moved south and ruled Rome for over 100 years. Under Estruscans rule, Rome became a powerful and changed from a village of hut into a city of wood and brick buildings
The building was constructed by emperors. Construction of the Colosseum began under the rule of the Emperor Vespasian. The Colosseum was used to host gladiatorial shows as well as a variety of other events
A Germanic general named Odoacer took control, overthrowing the western emperor named Romulus Augustuslus and the was no emperor ever again but Eastern Rome prospered and became know as the Byzantine Empire.
The Punic Wars was a war between Carthage and Rome. It started when the Romans sent an army to Sicily to prevent Carthaginian takeover and Carthage was forced to leave Sicily because Rome curshed Carthage's navy
Tarquins grew more and more cruel & the Romans finally rebelled. They overthrew the Tarquins and started a republic. A republic is a form of government in which the leader is not a king or queen but a person elected by citizens
