Rare disease, Dwarfism, affects less than 200,000 people in the US population. More than 200 different conditions can cause dwarfism. A single type, called achondroplasia, causes about 70 percent of all dwarfism. Achondroplasia is a genetic condition that affects about 1 in 15,000 to 1 in 40,000 people.

Usually normal life expectancy. Once diagnosed with this condition it will normally last a life time

-A large head with a prominent forehead-A flattened bridge of the nose-protruding jaw-Crowded and misaligned teeth-Forward curvature of the lower spine-Bowed legs-Flat, short, broad feet-"Double-Jointedness"

-Growth Hormone Deficiency -Genetics / Inherited-Skeletal Dysplasia (genetic mutation)

-Adult height of 4 feet 10 inches or under

- Osteotherapy -Growth Hormone Treatment -Limb Lengthening -Physical Therapy -Staying Healthy

There is no way to prevent Dwarfism. But there are ways to reduce the effects the disorder has on ones life.
