1. Theodor Seuss Geisel was born on March 2, 1904 in Massachusetts. 2. He lived to be 87 years old. 3. During his early career, he was a cartoonist. A lot of his work was published in LIFE and Vanity Fair magazine. 4. Following World War II, Theodor began writing children's books such as Horton Hears a Who! and If I Ran The Zoo that were published soon after. 5. Theodor was married to a woman named Helen. Helen battled cancer and emotional pain from an affair Theodor had with their friend, Audrey. Helen commited suicide and Theodor married Audrey a year later.
