Physical development is slower than usual in these children. Most dont reach their average adult height and have delayed social and mental development.
Down Syndrome
When a child gets Down Syndrome (DS) they gain an extra 21 chromosome which is a total of 47 instead of 46, and becuase of this they have problems with how their brain and their body develops.
Down Syndrome is also known as Trisomy 21
