"Migrant Mother"hangs in The Library of Congress

Dorothea Lange's method of photography influenced people to share stories. She got comfortable and close with many different victims of The Great Depression. This comfortablilty and closeness created a wonderful relationship, which allowed her to fully campture emotion in her images.

PhotoJournalist of The Great DepressionLange documented the plight and struggle of famer families, sharecroppers, and migrant workers who strived to survive during the trying time of The Great Depression.

Dorothea Lange worked for the FSA she studied homeless people and captured the attention of local photographers.

Her second husband documented the stories of the migrant workers and made reports of who and what she was caputring with her photographs.
