Dolphins on the Sand

Beached: (verb) A whale or similar animal to be stranded out of water.

Dolphins and other sea mammals, like whales, will sometimes become beached and cannot find their way to the ocean on their own. This can be harmful to the animals and their inner organs may crush under their own weight. Their skin may also dry out from being exposed to the dry air for too long. They need human help to get back to safety in the water!
