Dolly was born on July 5, 1996 and lived until the age of 6.
Dolly the Sheep was the first female mammal to be cloned from a human call using nuclear transfer.
Dolly was cloned by Ian Wilmut, Keith Campbell, and some of their colleagues at Roslin Institute in Edinburgh, Scotland.
Taking the cell from the mammary gland plus having a healthy body proves that taking it from a certain place in the body could make a whole other person on thing. Being cloned from a mammary gland gave Dolly the name after Dolly Parton.
She was called "the world's most famous sheep".
