Definition of Schizophrenia:

A group of disorders characterized by confused and disconnected thoughts, emotions, and perceptions

Symptoms:

Incoherent language, inappropriate emotions, giggling for no apparent reason, generally disorganized motor behavior, and hallucinations and delusions.

Course:

Definition of Disorganized Schizophrenia:

A chronic mental illness in which a person loses touch with reality, resulting in speech and behavior that are inappropriate and don't make sense.

Typically starts out in a less severe state, but can become very severe over time. Roughly 10% of people with this disorder commit suicide and around 50% of them try it. Typically, Disorganized Schizophrenia is worst from ages 15 to 25 in men and 25 to 35 in women.

Prevalence:

Roughly 1 % (World) has Disorganized Schizophrenia. Every year, 1 in every 10,000 people will aquire Disorganized Schizophrenia.

Etiology:

What causes Disorganized Schizophrenia is unknown. But there are some risk factors, such as genetics and brain structure. A combination of both is thought to have the most influence in aquiring Disorganized Schizophrenia.
