Imagine a Hershey's Kiss (YUM!) with a toothpick going through it from the center of the base to the point. Now imagine cutting tiny slices. What do you think the shape of the slice is? (If you said "cylinder", you were right!)
The volume of one slice is (pi)(r^2)(h)(thickness)
To find the volume of the entire shape, add up an infinite number of slices by taking the integral!
To find the volume of a slice that looks like a washer, subtract the area of the inner circle from the area of the outer circle and multiply by the thickness.
