A major warning sign that your baby may be Visually Impaired is if they do not respond to visual stimulous

To be visually impaired or blind means that even with corrective measures, your vision is still no greater than 20/200. This can be a result of a genetic predisposition, or due to injury.According to the National Federation for the Blind, as of 2012 roughly 2% of the population is considered to be Blind or Visually Impaired. Of the 6,670,700 classified individuals in the United States, only 659,700 are school aged. Additionally there are 356,700 invidiuals with reported visual disability in New York State alone. Individuals who are VI are able to live independently with the use of Mobility Orientation devices.Although students and adults who are VI are mental equals to their seeing peers, they still face lower income, graduation, and employment rates.
