Description of DidiniumDidinium are fast moving carnivorous protozoans that feed almost exclusively onlive Paramecium. This means that they are heterotrophs. The Didinium have a "nose" which they use to latch onto their prey and attack it . They latch onto their prey with a threadlike trichocyst. Once the Didinium has paraylyzed its prey it eats it whole. Didinium are found in ponds and in still water. Didinium are in constant motion at all times looking for prey.
