Deserts

Decomposed by fungi and bacteria
The sun is the main producer in the foodchain.
Can go without water for long periods of time. They drink water when it is available. The moisture flesh of thier prey is enoughto satisfiy them. During the night, it is cool, that is why they tend to hunt at night.
All the plants that survive in the desert have adapted to the dry, hot conditions. They have a waxy outer coating that helps retain moisture. Seeds remain dormant in the sand until there is enough water to grow. Roots spread across the ground to get as much water as possible. The spikey thorns are to protect themselves from other animals that are looking for food and/or water.
Consumers
Herbivores
Herbivores eat plants, but some do eat insects and dead animals. They rely on those to satisfy their food and water needs.
