Deoxyribonucleic acid

James Watson and Franis Crick found DNA about 60 years ago and changed the way of life by usig X-ray diffraction to interrogate the insides of living cells.

~ DNA molecules are complex molecules which contain the assembly instructions for every living creature~DNA evidence for evolution includes mutations, genetic similarities among species, so-called “Junk DNA” and “Pseudogenes.”

Deoxyribonucleic acid

What is DNA?~DNA is Deoxyribonucleic acid which is used to identify an organism~ DNA is made up of chemical building blocks called nucleotides. the three main parts are a phosphate group, sugar group and one of four types of nitrogen bases.

Where does DNA come from?~ DNA can be found in the nucleus and is refered to as nuclear data~ DNA can also be found in humans or othr complex organisms with a small amount of DNA inside the MItochondria

What DNA looks like...

Who originally found DNA?

How does DNA support the theory of evolution?

By Ben Szmalc and Darian Devereaux

Intresting Fact:Genetic information is stored within the chemical structure of the molecule DNA.

Why DNA is double helix?~ Double helix helps scientists to describe DNA's winding, two-strandred chemical structure. ~ This shape - which looks much like a twisted ladder - gives DNA the power to pass along biological instructions with great precision.
