SKINWant a durable, waterproof, protective coat? Your skin is one! It is composed of the outer epidermis and the lower dermis.

NAILSYour fingers and toes are protected by nails which are modifications of the epidermis.

HAIRRegardless of whether your hair is straight, curly, thick or thin, brown, black, or blonde, it develops from cells of the epidermis.

SWEAT GLANDSThey help prevent the growth of bacteria. Sudoriferous glands, as they are also known, also help regulate body temperature.

SEBACEOUS GLANDS Oil glands are generally associated with hair follicles. Sebum, the product of oil glands, keeps hair and skin soft.
