Natural Resources:The DRC contains significant coal and iron ore deposits. Limestone deposits, found throughout the country, are some of the most extensive in Africa. Crude oil has become an increasingly important resource, as well as diamonds, cobalt, copper, gold.

Recipe:Moambe, made from a rich blend of onions, peppers, chilies, garlic, tomato, peanut butter, nutmeg, and palm oil. Moambe is most frequently used to braise chicke chicken or such fish as maboke or perch.

Religion:There are over 200 different ethnic groups; the main four being the Kongo, Mongo, Luba, and the Hamitic.

Imperialism:-A policy of extending a country's power and influence through diplomacy or military force- They gained independence from Belgium as the Republic of Congo on June 30, 1960

Etiquette:Meals usually are eaten with the fingers of the right hand unlike in the US where this would be sceen as poor manners. When people use utelsils, they put the fork in the left hand with the knife in the right, similar to us.

Current Event:Democratic Republic of Congo lawmakers say dozens of people were killed near Beni in North Kivu Province; attack is blamed on rebels of Allied Democratic Forces and National Army for the Liberation of Uganda
