What is it?-The act of cutting down a forest for the use of land and supply-Trees are often cut down to make room for farming and developmentCause of Topic-Illegal clearings of forest has been in response to foreign countries in demand for common commodities such as paper, beef, soy, and palm oil

Impact-Deforestation has changes to the environment and include water depletion, freshwater use, ocean acidification atomepheric aerosolpollution and the introduction of exotic chemicals and modified organisms- Overall, deforestion has impact on lowering the source of natural resources and will disrupt the ecosystem


What is being done to minimize the promblem?- Willingly to spend tens of billions of dollars to help poor countries save their forest-The United States has landmark legislation in place that bans the use of illegaly sourced wood products in the country

What can you do to help?-You can watch what you buy and eat from the resources it has-Recycle and pickup trash- Do not buy wood from prohibited rain forestExample-Deforestation may hasten the process of global warming from the rise of carbon dioxide- Madagascar rain forest are being cut down for resources, changing the species envrionment

What will happen if the problem is being ignored?- There will be less natural resources to use- The source of resources will be limtied and rationable

Is this problem being monitored?-Yes, atleast half of global deforestation is taking place illegally and in support of commercial agriculture

Fun Fact-It is estimated that within 100 years there will be no rainforests -There are more than 121 natural remedies in the rain forest which can be used as medicines-25% of cancers fighting organisms are found in the amazon.
