Dawesfield

The most important guest Dawesfield ever had was General George Washington when he stayed at Dawesfield in the Revolutionary War. Dawesfield used to be the home of Elizabeth Dawes and James Morris.

It was used during the Revolutionary War so that the army could plan their attack. They even held court martials there for soldiers who went against the American plan.

Now Dawesfield is a lovely mansion with beautiful iron railings.
