General FactsThe Daintree Rainforest is a tropical rainforest region that located on the north east coast of Queensland. It is approximately 1,200 km sq and is the largest continuous area of tropical rainforest on the Australian continent.

History of the Daintree RainforestThe Daintree rainforest has a grand hisrtory. It is named after 19th century Australian geologist & photographer, Richard Daintree. The rainforest gained its official World Heritage Listing back in 1988. It is 135 million years old!
