[2016] ashley Ocasio: Daily life of the 1930s

Not only did farmers have to worry about "Black blizzards"(dust storms) they also had to worry about biblical plagues of jackrabbits and grasshoppers. They would come and eat almost all of the little bit of crops they had left. In order to combat townsmen corraled the jackrabbits in pens and beat them to death with golf clubs and bats. The grasshoppers were burned and crushed with tractors.

The daily life in the 1930s was rough. Pedestrians had to wear face masks (bottom left) and full face coverings(bottom right). You couldnt even give a nice handshake without causeing a spark that sent them flying to the floor.
