Cyber Bullying

Cyberbullying is when a child, preteen or teen is tormented, threatened, harassed, humiliated, embarrassed or otherwise targeted by another child, preteen or teen using the Internet, interactive and digital technologies or mobile phones.

Any type of bullying can affect someones like horrily. Victims could end their lives because of it. They also may get depression and/or anxiety from it. Schools get bad reprutations. Teachers and staff feel like there is nothing they can do. Parents and students get bad lables.

How can cyber bullying affect people?

What is cyber bullying?

Should schools be more strict about cyber bullying?

YES! Stop bullying now!!

Bullying can end lives. Just becasue you're behind a screen and not face to face, it doesn't make it right. Yes, some people take it worse than others. Bullies act like, no one will know their identity because they aren't in person. I interviewed ,Leah Streeter, a student from Dunkerton, Iowa. She stated that in her school, she sees more teensgers being cyber bullyied or cyber bullying. She has been cyber bullied a lot and she stated that people are even more harsh over social media, than they are in person. Leah thinks that cyber bullying happens more in teens because they are less mature and they don't realize how much it can affect their futures. If schools are more stdrict about cyber bullying, students might feel more safe attending schools.

No! Anti-Bullying laws are just making matters worse!

Bullys are just taking advantage of these laws! They act like there isn't anything stopping them. Anti-bullying laws could intimidate the bullys and give them another reason to bully kids! Laws to prevent them might make them feel like they are being controled over the internet and that would make them mad. Cyber Bullies being mad because of the laws, could make things 10x worse.

Cyber bullying must be prevented and stopped because it is everywhere in our society, victims are categorized by their behavior, people that bully have certain characteristics.
