Experiences of immigrant youth and families in U.S. schools and society have been conceptualized primarily as conflicts between immigrant culture and dominant U.S. culture. A World Unknown: Immigrant Parent Experiences with the School System
1) Learning about and addressing the dominant representations or stereotypesof immigrants in general and specific immigrant groups in particular. 2.)Learning and teaching about the motations and contents for the representation. 3.)Adderessing how this is occurring in the everyday practice, interest, and experiences of immigrant youth and families.
