His Early Life

Isaac Newton was born on January 4, 1643. He was born at Woolsthorpe, Lincolnshire, where he attended school. He entered Cambridge University in 1661, and he remained at the university, lecturing until 1696. In these Cambridge years, Newton was at the height of his creative power. During his time in Cambridge he prepared Philosophiae Naturalis Principia Mathematica although this was not published until 1687.
