Crusader Nursery Rhymes
Once upon a time, it was quite dangerous to criticize the government. An offended ruler would have your head removed from your shoulders ~ no freedom of speech, complaints were hidden in happy little rhymes. Those images represented nonsense that was going on at court. It was the only safe way to poke fun at the nobles.
Create a Nursery Rhyme...you can't just come out and say it or you'll lose your head...
Now, it is your turn to help people remember their history.
You are going to write a 4-6 line nursery rhyme based on any of the Crusades we studied
and present it in a Glog.
Following are elements necessary for a good,
old-fashioned nursery rhyme:
-> It talks about a bit of history regarding the Crusades
->It hides the true subject
-> The evilness or stupidity are hidden but still understandable in a story that doesn’t seem quite as awful.
->It possesses a happy rhythm and rhyme that makes the story easy to remember
->It includes fun children’s pictures that helps hide the true meaning
