Cotton Gin

He was born on December 8, 1765 in Westboro, Massachusetts.He went to Yale before he made the famous Cotton Gin. He also invented milling and interchangable parts. He was a very famous man. He passed away on January 8, 1825.

The cotton gin of 1793 quickly and easily removed seeds from cotton fibers. The productivity skyrocketed with the Cotton Gin. The cotton gin helped workers process 50 times more cotton each day than they could by hand. Though it was a great success it had a consequence along with it. It caused farmes in the south to want more cotton made. So with more cotton came more slaves. This caused the Slave demand in the south to increase. All in all it was a very successful invention and helped The South by a substantial amount in the 1800s.

Lasting Impact

It basically changed the Economy, especially for the South. By increading the rate of producing cotton.
