Coral reeefs are a community of living organism.It is made of plants,fish and many ceatures.Reefs are some of the most diverse ecosystems in the world. Their home to 25% of all marine life. Think of them as the "rainforest of the oceans."

Coral Reef are normally found in the tropical and semitropical areas of the world were water temperature range between 16 and 30 degress celcius (61 and 86 degress fahrenheit)

Coral reefs have been around a million of years.Lesss than0.1% of the worlds oceans floor is covered by reefs.Reefs grow very slowly from 0.3cm o 10 cm per year.The reefs we sea today have been growing from 5000 to 10000 years.

Coral Reef do a number of amazing things. Reef protect shorelines, provide a safe place for fish to spwan,provide habitats for large variety of organism,provide food, a source of medications and help the carbon cycle

Coral reefs are fragile ecosystems.They are very senstive to change.Oil spills and pollution sufocate living corals and poison the water. Worldwide coral reefs are disappearing for a number of reasons.

Coral reefs also have food chains that start with producers, hervibores, small carnivores, medium carnivores, and finally large predators.

Coral reefs are made of tiny animals called polyps that stay fixed in one place and are the main structure of a reef. Each polyp is connected by a living tissue to form a community.
