What kind of rights does the author have to determine what others can do with the authors work?
Copyright laws are formed so the author of the work gets credit for it. It is a form of protection. The author has the right to determine if others can make copies of the authors work and give copies of their work. The author even has the right to determine whether others can perform or display their work. The author can also choose whether they will allow their work to be changed or translated. If anyone is to perform any of the actions stated above, they are classified as copywriting. The law of copyright was created by Congress. The current law is called The Copyright Act of 1976 and it is a federal law. There are precise rules for printed material, illustrations and photographs, videos, music, computer software, internet, and television. Teachers must assure all of the work they are giving students follow the copyright terms, which are broken down by sections on the website below.
