Environmental Issues Project-Contamination of Forests-Deforestation
Intro Contamination and destruction of our forests are a serious problem today. Forests all over the world are destroyed through forest fires, and by the cutting down of trees to make paper and other related labour. Trees may be a renewable source, since new trees can be planted, but if we keep on burning and cutting down trees at thew fast rate we are doing now, then they will "dissappear" .
What do Forests provide? Forests contain many valuable resources, and produce oxygen which is vital for life. Trees and plants also absorb carbon dioxide and many pollutants form the air. Trees help control soil erosion and prevent flooding and their roots hold the soil together and rainwater. Forests are also the home for many animals. It shelters many animals in its trees, in its soil, and in its air. Many goods are made form trees fruits, seeds or other parts. We use trees to make products such as furniture and paper, but we must use trees to some extent.
How can you help? You can try to consume less paper, maybe by making your font size smaller or by printing both front and back. Also, don't throw your cigarretes onb the floor; they might be the beginning of a fire.
