Consonance

Consonance is the repetition of FINAL consonant sounds in a line of poetry.

We must lend a hand*In the example above, the end sound "nd" is repeated in "lend" and "hand."Note that it is only the final consonant sound that is repeated. The vowel sound does not need to be the same, but, when it is, that is when you get a rhyme! See the example below:May I put sand in your hand?
