-Confucius (or Kongzi) is the founder of Confucianism-551-479 BCE-Confucius was focused on everyday concerns; not as much on big mysteries like the origin of the universe/god/afterlife-"We do not yet know how to serve man, how can we know about serving the spirits?" and "We don't know yet about life, how can we know about death?" were Confucius's famous answers

-Confucianism is a social hierarchy in order to create harmony-The Five Bonds in Confucianism are: ruler to ruled, father to son, husband to wife, older brother to younger brother, friend to friend. -Specific duties were prescribed to each of the participants in these sets of relations
