Born Gabrielle Chanel in The Loire Valley, France.
Achievements
-Neiman Marcus honored Chanel with its Award for Distinguished Service in the Field of Fashion, declaring her the most influential designer of the century.-Had many influential Hollywood stars such as Audrey Hepburn, Marilyn Monroe, and Grace Kelly as routine clients to her clothing, perfume, and jewelry.-One of the most influential and wealthy women of the 20th century.-Chanel, to this day is one of the most sought after fashion brands in the world.

Works as a seamstress and cabaret singer, earning her nickname La Petite Coco.

Chanel's sport suits first appeared in Vogue February 1.

Introduces the little black dress. Vogue calls it “the frock that all the world will wear."
Died in Jan. Her last moments were spent working on a collection that was showed two weeks later.
