This is important because these traits showed that the empire had signifacent progress. Claudius strengthended the state by extending the empire'sborders by conquering and annexing Britain.

His family ostracized him and excluded him from public office until his consulship.

I believe this was important because it shows that intellgence can do a great deal for a community.

The scholarly, crippled Claudius came to power at the age of 51 following the assination of his nephew Caligula.

He was the only scholar to ever wear purple.

Claudius strengthened the state by extending enfranchisement and state offices to provincial Romans, and by reorganizing the imperial bureaucracy.

Claudias was disabled, he stammered, his head shook, his knees were weak, and he slobbered when he was excited. It is theroized he probably had Wilson's Disease.

I believe Claudius's differences are what mad him a great leader. He had something to prove to his family as well as show that disabled people can still accomplish great things.

Claudius proved to be an able and efficient administrator. He was also an ambitious builder, constructing many new roads, aqueducts, and canals across the Empire

Overall I think Claudiu's features of learning and disablity were important because that fueled him to prove he could help Rome. Which is proven in his accomplishments.
