Claudius
Emperor from 41-54 AD
Became Emperor at age 51
Most competent and productive Emperor
He had a scheming wife and soon after adopting Nero, he died possibly from poison
Claudius proved to be one of the best Emperor's to ever rule Rome even at his old age. He expanded Rome by conquring and annexing Britain and also streghtened the state by extending enfranchisment and state offices of provincial Romans. Claudius' wife may have been the cause of his death.
