What Was The Civil Rights Movement? The Civil Rights Movement was a very devastating time in history.During the Civil Rights Movement African Americans were segregated from white people by having different bathrooms, drinking fountains, schools, and they even had certain seats on buses. They were also treated poorly and sometimes when they were protesting for their rights they were arrested. There were many attacks on African Americans just because they looked different. There was even a klan of white people formed to stop the African Americans from having there rights. It took America too long to accept African Americans as regular people and treat them like one another.
