On December 5, 1955, blacks in Montgomery, Alabama went on a protest because of segregated bus seating.

On December 1, 1955, Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat in the colored section. She was known for this action.

Martin Luther King Jr. was a played a big part in the Civil Rights Movement. He gave the I Have a Dream speech in 1963 during the March on Washington.

The Civil Rights Movement was enacted on July 2, 1964.
