Plan and design transportation or hydraulic systems and structures, following construction and government standards, using design software and drawing tools.

I think that this engineering career would have a good impact on my future because I would be able to make structures and build walls, dams, towers, and more. I would be able to have a possitive impact in the world we live in and that would be amazing.

I think I would like to pursue a career in engineering. It sounds like fun, it pays decent, and I would be able to work on interesting projects and make them even more efficient.

Civil engineers design, construct, supervise, operate, and maintain large construction projects and systems, including roads, buildings, airports, tunnels and dams. Compute load and grade requirements, water flow rates, and material stress factors to determine design specifications. Inspect project sites to monitor progress and ensure conformance to design specifications and safety or sanitation standards. Direct construction, operations, and maintenance activities at project site.Direct or participate in surveying to lay out installations and establish reference points, grades, and elevations to guide construction.Civil engineers generally work indoors in offices. However, many spend time outdoors at construction sites so they can monitor operations or solve problems on site. They get paid about $79,340 per year and $38.14 per hour.
