Circles
Pi=3.14159265359
Circle- round plane figure whose boundary (the circumference) consists of points equidistant from a fixed point (the center).
A circle with its properties
Properties of a circle
CenterA point inside the circle. All points on the circle are equidistant (same distance) from the center point.
Diameter-The distance across the circle. The length of any chord passing through the center. It is twice the radius.Radius-The radius is the distance from the center to any point on the circle. It is half the diameter.Circumference-The circumference is the distance around the circle.
Chord-A line segment linking any two points on a circle.Tangent-A line passing a circle and touching it at just one pointSecant-A line that intersects a circle at two points.
Fun facts!1.A circle has an infinite amount of lines of symmetry2.The awesome word encyclopedia literally means "circle of learning"3.A full circle equals 360 degrees. It includes 4 right angles that equal 90 degrees each. Half a circle equals 180 degrees. 4.No matter what size the circle is, the ratio between their circumference and their diameter is always the same! 5.Circles (from the Greek kirkos, meaning ring, from the ancient root ker, meaning “to turn”) are symbols of infinity – a line that never ends.
