Famous Yeager

He was the first to break the sound barrier, which gave made him the record holder.He celebrated with a few other friend pilots.When he was breaking the record, his ribs were broken and could not use one of his arms, sohe taped his ribs and a broom handle to pilot the plane.

Chuck Yeager is the first person ever, to break the sound barrier on Oct. 14th 1947. That made him important because, it revolutionized the design and role of combat aircrafts, and later commercial airplanes. Chuck Yeager was a very important and well-known WW2 veteran/soldier.

Turning Point-18 year-old Chuck Yeager enlisted in the Army Air Corps in September 1941. He was serving as crew chief on an AT-11 when he was selected for pilot training under the flying sergeant program in July 1942.
