Christopher Paul Curtis was born on May 10,1953 in Flint Michigan. He want to the University of Michigan. Berfore he began his writing career, he worked in a factory in Flint,Michigan. When he used to work in the factory, he would write during his free time because he hated working at the factory. That is how he became a writer. Curtis has written many historical fiction books about African American characters from his hometown of Flint. He is a very popular writer and has won many awards.
