Can You choose your plate?

The USDA approved food pyramid has crumbled and has given way to the new "choose my plate" program. Can you choose your plate for healthy eating? The basics include: grains, vegetables, fruits, dairy and protein. The trick is the right amount of each on your daily plate.

Drink water instead of sugary drinks to stay hydrated and energized!

For a healthy heart, choose lean proteins. Proteins are not just meat and poultry! They include nuts, seafood, beans and peas, eggs, processed soy products, and seeds.

You can't just eat right! You have to MOVE too!

Should sugary snacks have a place on your plate?

Along with vegetables, fruits make up half your plate. Fruits are naturally sweet and make a great snack! You can also drink your fruits, just make sure it's 100% real fruit juice and not a sugary drink. What's your favorite fruit? Me? I like fruit salad! A little bit of everything!
