When Mao fled, he intended to end up fighting the Nationalists. He did have unintended consequences which were forming an alliance with the Nationalists to fignt back the Japanese invasion.

The people that contributed to this event are the two competing leaders; Mao Tse Tsung and Chiang Kai-Shek. They each believed in different ideas and beliefs; Communism, which was lead by Mao Tse Tsung, and Nationalism, which was lead by Chiang Kai-Shek.

The most influential factors that could of prevented the Communist Revolution if it didn't happen is Mao fleeing to the interior and attracting a lot of support towards the Communists.

Immediate Factors:An immediate factor that contributed to this event was World War 2.Underlying Factors:The underlying factors that contributed were Japan's invasion on China and the Soviets helping and aiding the Kuomintang (Nationalists).
