Cherokee Native Americans

They made dugout canoes,pipe carving, rivercane baskets, gourd art, and pottery. They hunted with bow and arrows and blowguns. The fishermen used spears and fishing poles.

Other tribes found in this region include the Seminole, Creek, Shawnee, Powahatan,andmany others.

Cherokee men wore brechcloths and leggings. The women wore wrap-around skirts and ponch-style blouches. everybody wore moccasins on their feet.

The Cherokee Indians lived in Georgia, Tennesee, and North and South Carolina.

The Cherokee Indians lived in wattle and daub houses. They made them by weaving rivercane, wood, and vines into a frame , then coating it with plaster. The roof was shingled with bark or grass.
